DR. BRENDA COVELL

Dr. Brenda Covell is a graduate of the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. Her last year in chiropractic college brought her back to Buffalo to complete her studies. Seeing the revitalization of the city and the opportunity to partner with Phoenix Rising in the newly renovated 500 Seneca Building, she founded Covell Chiropractic in July of 2016.

Growing up in Lockport, NY Dr. Covell completed her undergraduate studies at SUNY College at Brockport. Her first career was in the outdoor industry, where she worked as a whitewater guide and ski instructor. Recognizing the physical demands of these jobs, she found the holistic chiropractic treatment philosophy of injury prevention to be beneficial to her lifestyle. These defining principles of the profession are what helped her decide to go back to chiropractic school when she felt the call to get a “real” job.

Dr. Covell is highly trained in many treatment techniques including: Diversified adjusting, Activator instrument assisted adjusting, Craniosacral Therapy, chiropractic cranial adjusting, various soft tissue techniques (such as ART and Graston), whole foods nutrition, yoga therapy, postural and ergonomic correction and rehabilitative exercises.

Dr. Covell is certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) in Webster Technique. This technique assists in the assessment and correction of pelvic imbalances in the pregnant patient. Chiropractic care during pregnancy can relieve tension on the pelvis, helping the baby achieve optimal positioning. This can reduce labor and delivery time, as well as make mom more comfortable throughout pregnancy! Since the birth of her son in 2019, and daughter in 2020 Dr. Covell has devoted even more time to furthering her knowledge on pregnancy and postpartum care. She believes every person deserves the best support through this life-changing time.

Dr. Covell currently serves as the President of the local district of the New York State Chiropractic Association. The NYSCA works to further the profession, provide mentorship to chiropractic students and support current evidence-based care for patients.

In her spare time Dr. Covell enjoys skiing, paddle boarding, yoga and outside time with her family.

Dr. Brenda Covell is not only a true professional, she is a pleasure to be around. Her outgoing engaging demeanor made me completely at ease during our time.

DR. NICHOLAS JONES

DR. NICHOLAS JONES

Born and raised in the Buffalo area, Dr. Nicholas Jones is excited to bring his chiropractic services to Covell Chiropractic and Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.

Dr. Nick was first introduced to chiropractic following an auto accident but continued with care for athletic and performance reasons throughout high school and into college. Knowing he wanted to be in the health and science fields, Dr. Jones shadowed one of his own chiropractors and fell in love with the profession. This led to the pursuit of a Health and Wellness degree from SUNY Buffalo State College followed by D’Youville College’s Doctor of Chiropractic program.

During his time at Buffalo State, Dr. Nick worked in the private chiropractic office setting as an Assistant before becoming the Office Manager. He then used this experience to begin working in D’Youville’s chiropractic clinic as an employee prior to his entrance as an intern. Dr. Jones joined Covell Chiropractic in 2019.

Dr. Jones previously served as the Director of Sciences at the New York Institute of Massage in Williamsville. Currently he teaches various technique courses for the Chiropractic program at D’Youville University, and in 2023 was awarded “Adjunct of the Year”.

He and his wife Amanda recently welcomed their first daughter into the world and he is wholly embracing being a girl dad. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, his 2 pug mixes Baxter and Pudge, exercising, movies, boating with friends, and playing recreational soccer and hockey throughout Buffalo.

Dr. Nick is the actual best. Easy to talk to, extremely informative and absolutely effective. I have not experienced sciatic pain in months. I will be coming here until I no longer live in WNY.
